Bio

Edgar Breau

Singer-songwriter

Edgar Breau is the founder and leader of internationally acclaimed  Hamilton, Ontario's cult '70s psych/proto-punk band Simply Saucer, who's classic album, Cyborg Revisited has been hailed by numerous publications as being one of the best Canadian rock albums ever made.  Edgar Breau has since forged a parallel path as a solo musician.

Schooled in folk song traditions, literary fixations, and the fingerstyle guitar playing of John Fahey, his output spans decades -- from 1991's Shadows of Ecstasy to the just released in Jan 2025, Acadian Drifter. These albums showcase his  bewitching melodies, poetic approach to composition, and innovative guitar playing techniques.

Shindig UK's Johnnie Johnstone wrote of the Edgar Breau album of 2018, "He creates a glorious cornucopia of Pop and Folk tunes, effortlessly amalgamating Fahey-esque picking, raga influenced psychedelia, CSN style West Coast harmonizing and avante-garde guitar experiments with fluid Cosmic Country and pastoral Anglo Pop."
